Unsere Cloud Platform bildet die Grundlage vieler unserer Kundenprojekte. Wir haben bereits Templates, Automationen und Best Practices rund um AWS, GitHub, GitLab, Pulumi und weitere Tools aufgebaut.
Als Principal Cloud Platform Engineer gestaltest Du die technische Richtung dieser Plattform und entwickelst Architekturprinzipien, Plattformstandards und wiederverwendbare Bausteine, die über einzelne Projekte hinaus wirken und unsere Cloud Platform langfristig weiterentwickeln. Dabei arbeitest Du eng mit Tech Leads, Staff Engineers und Cloud Platform Engineers an skalierbaren Cloud-Architekturen auf Basis von AWS, z. B. mit Managed Kubernetes oder Serverless.
Du bringst Deine Erfahrung früh in Angebotsphasen, Architekturentscheidungen und komplexe technische Fragestellungen ein und hilfst dabei, tragfähige Plattformlösungen für neue Projekte zu definieren. Gleichzeitig bleibst Du bewusst hands-on und unterstützt Teams beim Aufbau von Infrastruktur mit Pulumi (TypeScript) oder Terraform, beim Aufbau von CI/CD-Pipelines mit GitHub oder GitLab sowie bei operativen Themen wie Monitoring mit Elastic Cloud, Prometheus und Grafana.
Darüber hinaus unterstützt Du Development Teams dabei, die Plattform effektiv zu nutzen, trägst zur Weiterentwicklung unserer Engineering-Standards bei und teilst Dein Wissen aktiv im Unternehmen, z. B. durch Mentoring, Architektur-Reviews oder technische Diskussionen. Du unterstützt aktiv die Förderung unserer technischen Talente im Unternehmen, indem Du Feedback gibst, Deine Erfahrung teilst und Engineers dabei hilfst, fundierte technische Entscheidungen zu treffen und sich fachlich weiterzuentwickeln.

Das bringst Du mit!

Du hast langjährige Erfahrung (typischerweise rund um ein Jahrzehnt) in der Entwicklung und im Betrieb produktiver Software- und Cloud-Systeme.
Du hast bereits Architekturentscheidungen verantwortet und in technischen Führungsrollen gearbeitet.
Du hast Erfahrung darin, technische Standards oder Plattformen projektübergreifend weiterzuentwickeln.
Du arbeitest mit einem DevOps-Mindset und bist es gewohnt, in verteilten Teams remote zusammenzuarbeiten.
Du kannst klar und zielgruppengerecht mit Kunden, Tech Leads und Engineering-Teams kommunizieren.
Du gehst Probleme strukturiert und analytisch an und sorgst proaktiv für Transparenz bei technischen Herausforderungen.
Du hast ein gutes Verständnis für Security- und Compliance-Anforderungen, z. B. im Kontext von ISO 27001 oder ähnlichen Standards.
Du bist bereit, On-Call-Verantwortung im Plattformbetrieb zu übernehmen.
Erfahrung mit Technologien wie AWS, Kubernetes, Serverless, Pulumi oder Terraform, GitHub oder GitLab sowie Elastic Cloud, Prometheus oder Grafana ist ein großer Pluspunkt. Weitere Plattformen wie Vercel oder Heroku sind ebenfalls Teil unseres Ökosystems.
Du bist ab September 2026 verfügbar.
Du verfügst über gute Deutschkenntnisse, da unsere Projektkommunikation und viele Kundenumgebungen überwiegend auf Deutsch stattfinden.

Our cloud platform forms the basis for many of our customer projects. We have already developed templates, automations, and best practices for AWS, GitHub, GitLab, Pulumi, and other tools.
As a Principal Cloud Platform Engineer, you will shape the technical direction of this platform and develop architectural principles, platform standards, and reusable building blocks that extend beyond individual projects and further develop our cloud platform in the long term. You will work closely with tech leads, staff engineers, and cloud platform engineers on scalable cloud architectures based on AWS, e.g., with Managed Kubernetes or Serverless.
You will contribute your experience early on in the bidding phase, architecture decisions, and complex technical issues, helping to define viable platform solutions for new projects. At the same time, you will remain hands-on and support teams in setting up infrastructure with Pulumi (TypeScript) or Terraform, building CI/CD pipelines with GitHub or GitLab, and operational issues such as monitoring with Elastic Cloud, Prometheus, and Grafana.
In addition, you will support development teams in using the platform effectively, contribute to the further development of our engineering standards, and actively share your knowledge within the company, e.g., through mentoring, architecture reviews, or technical discussions. You will actively support the development of our technical talent within the company by providing feedback, sharing your experience, and helping engineers make informed technical decisions and develop their professional skills.

These are your competences!

You have many years of experience (typically around a decade) in the development and operation of productive software and cloud systems.
You have already been responsible for architectural decisions and worked in technical leadership roles.
You have experience in further developing technical standards or platforms across projects.
You work with a DevOps mindset and are used to collaborating remotely in distributed teams.
You can communicate clearly and appropriately with customers, tech leads, and engineering teams.
You approach problems in a structured and analytical manner and proactively ensure transparency when it comes to technical challenges.
You have a good understanding of security and compliance requirements, e.g., in the context of ISO 27001 or similar standards.
You are willing to take on on-call responsibility in platform operations.
Experience with technologies such as AWS, Kubernetes, Serverless, Pulumi or Terraform, GitHub or GitLab, as well as Elastic Cloud, Prometheus or Grafana is a big plus. Other platforms such as Vercel or Heroku are also part of our ecosystem.
You are available from September 2026.
You have a good command of German, as our project communication and many customer environments are predominantly in German.
